24 November 2010
Welcome to our November 2010 newsletter. We've sent it to you either because you've been to our website and signed-up to receive it, or because you've previously enquired about one of our rentals, or because you've stayed with us before. If your email system is having problems displaying it properly

Coach House Rentals are the leading specialist in short term rentals. We operate in London, where we are a fully accredited member of Visit London - the official visitor organisation for London, Paris, New York and Rome. We list properties ranging from cosy apartments just for 2 to grand mansions that will sleep up to 12. We've been in business since 2001 and done over 2,500 lets.
We send out some 4/6 newsletters a year, approximately every 2 months though it can sometimes be shorter or longer depending on what there is to tell you, covering such topics as:
interesting and unusual things to do and see in London, Paris, Rome and New York over the coming months,
new or unusual properties that have joined our listings,
tips on how to make the most of your visit to London, Paris, Rome and New York, and
special deals.
In every newsletter you have the chance to un-subscribe and we will remove you from our distribution list on request - see end of newsletter.
To prevent our newsletters going to your spam file add this to your address book:
newsletter@chsrentals.com.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you feel might like to know about us.
We welcome feedback about our newsletters - do let us know what you like and what you don't like:
feedback@chsrentals.com.
Remember - not only is it much nicer to stay in a rental rather than a hotel, it's often much more cost effective - especially for families and more than 2 people travelling together. Full details of our services, all our properties and how to book, together with suggested itineraries and a helpful list of things to do and see can be found on our web sites.

Rome
Christmas is a good time to visit Rome - there are no tourist hoards and you really can blend in and "live like a local". Temperatures vary but even on the coldest days the sun usually makes a generous appearance. It's often mild enough to eat outside; many restaurants and bars have heaters above outdoors tables. You'll need a coat, gloves and scarf, but don't forget your sunglasses.
Visitors will find the main shopping streets sparkling with festive lights and packed with shoppers; many shops lay down red carpeting on the pavements. Groups of busking musicians play cheerful seasonal tunes. As well as the Christmas lights, a giant Christmas tree appears in the centre of town, in Piazza Venezia or by the Colosseum.
Rome is full of good places to buy presents: hundreds of little food shops are packed with goodies to take home. Favourite present-shopping destinations are the Bottega del Cioccolato on Via Leonina and stylish stationers Fabriano on Via del Babuino, which stocks various Italy-themed items. Most non-food shops will wrap gifts for you free of charge. Take a break from shopping and sit outdoors with a steaming cup of rich hot chocolate or vin brulé (mulled wine). Shopping guide.
Highlights of the season are the Papal Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, and the Pope reading his Christmas message in the piazza in front of St. Peter's at noon on Christmas Day. In St. Peter's Square there is also a famous life-size nativity scene.

By popular demand, we now have a number of Rome rentals with a 3 night (rather than 5 night) minimum stay. Although even a 7 night stay is insufficient to see all that Rome has to offer, those with limited time can spend just 3 days seeing the highlights and then go on to other cities such as Florence or Venice. The 3 night minimum stay rentals are flagged on our web site.
To help you plan your visit go to 101 Things to do in Rome.
